GOVERNOR DEVAL PATRICK SUPPORTING SHARED PARENTING

Below is a link to You Tube of the first time Governor Deval Patrick, Governor of Massachusetts, publically supported shared parenting. In fact, while shared parenting has enjoyed the success of many Massachusetts senators and representatives, it is the first ever a Massachusetts Governor has ever publically supported shared parenting. The video is of question by Berkshire Fatherhood Coalition spokesperson Rinaldo Del Gallo. The event was last year on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Pittsfield High School in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.  LEGAL HELP

We are developing a new section, LEGAL QUESTIONS for those wanting legal help for common family law related problems. Click HERE for answers to common questions about family law from Attorney Rinaldo Del Gallo.

While this section is currently in the process of being constructed (and probably will be on an ongoing basis), there is already a great deal of information there, especially on the subject of child custody. While there is some political commentary on the state of the law, it is only presented to give father’s a heads-up as what to expect and to develop realistic strategies. The purpose of this LEGAL QUESTIONS section is to present a straightforward analysis of the law, with a bent toward the non-custodial parent. Its aim is also to provide a reasonably thorough understanding of the law for the layperson. It clearly is aimed at Massachusetts law but will deal with many issues that have application across all jurisdictions.

There really is a need for this. Most legal websites from attorneys provide far too little information to be of much use—they are mostly trying to lure in a client by throwing out a morsel of information. Unfortunately, such practical information is also missing from almost all fathers’ rights groups, whose objective is to change the law and attitudes about fathers, and to decry the injustice they suffer--goals which will also serve in other parts of the website, just not in the legal help section. Father’s rights groups are much less focused on helping non-custodial parents through the legal maze, or at least doing so through their websites.

The information herein is very detailed, for which we are entirely unapologetic. Many people complain that there are not enough resources for pro se litigants (people representing themselves), or those who want to be education consumers—this is an attempt to close that gap.  But even if you have an attorney, this will make you an educated consumer and will actually help you help your lawyer, by making you know what is important and what is unimport.
